Job Description

The Quality Specialist assists the Quality Manager in implementation of the TAC's

QA Program and Contractor Assurance System and directly supports DOE in

development, management, and implementation of the DOE Oversight Plan and

DOE Order 226.2B, “Department of Energy Oversight Policy.

Duties and Responsibilities consist of but are not limited to the following:

Conduct operational awareness oversight activities “boots-on-the-ground” of

Remedial Action Contractor and TAC activities.

Plan, coordinate, and conduct formal assessments and effectiveness reviews.

Collect and review objective evidence to verify compliance with requirements

and closure of corrective actions.

Assist in maintaining a database to manage corrective actions.

Prepare assessment reports, weekly oversight reports, and a weekly oversight

schedule.

Communicate and report the results of oversight and assessments to DOE and

contractor management.

Review Contractor Assurance Systems, identify trends, and monitor actions for

improvement.

Recommend opportunities to enhance quality, safety, and reliability.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science,

Engineering, Physics, or other related

field (relevant experience may be

substituted for education)

At least 2 years of experience

supporting Quality Assurance efforts,

preferably associated with DOE

projects.

Knowledge of Quality Assurance

Programs and consensus standards.

Experience conducting assessment and

operational awareness activities.

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
