Position: Maintenance Technician III

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Lean 5S initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity
  • Attend and contribute to discourse during team meetings and leverage senior team members for knowledge and direction
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure operational excellence
  • Perform and inspect general equipment maintenance including preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and working on and around machinery
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect electrical supply circuits and motors up to 480VAC including fuse/breaker replacement, termination points, electrical switchgear, and step-up/step-down transformers
  • Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical and PLC control circuits
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, and repair or replace electrical motors
  • Follow all written work instructions including SOPs, technical manuals, and assembly instructions and contribute to revision edits of these documents
  • Identify and use the right tool for the right job
  • Demonstrate continued proficiency in CMMS software and Microsoft Suite
  • Maintain operational readiness of compressed air sources and hydraulic systems
  • Perform and inspect hydraulic system maintenance
  • Perform and inspect occasional MIG or TIG welding
  • Perform, inspect, and collaborate regarding industrial maintenance and construction tasks such as painting, electrical, office lighting, carpentry, welding, machining, sheet metal work, and plumbing
  • Prioritize multiple on-going tasks
  • Must be able to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Mentor junior team members when performing general maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines during PM's, changing filters, cleaning dust collectors, pulling wire
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on CNC machining centers
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure operational excellence
  • Expertly perform advanced building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, grounds keeping)
  • Expertly perform advanced equipment maintenance (trouble shooting, replacing defective components, working on and around industrial equipment)
  • Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical and PLC control circuits
  • Advanced conduit bending, threading and installation (EMT, PVC, rigid, BX cable)
  • Advanced knowledge of compressed air and hydraulic systems
  • Predictive maintenance on various industrial equipment comprised of ball bar testing, vibration analysis, and thermographic inspection
  • Use of precision measuring equipment (calipers, ID/OD micrometers, etc.)
  • Schedule, oversee, and direct contractors or vendors working on Valor property
  • Install and program intuitive and ladder PLC modules
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
  • Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug screenings
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain eligibility to drive fleet
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, decimals, fractions)
  • Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives "Employee Possessor" eligibility
  • Must be able to safely work in an environment containing devices that may interfere with the operation of a pacemaker
  • Pass a respirator fit test administered by Valor as needed to succeed in the role
  • Obtain and maintain confined space certification as needed to succeed in the role
  • Obtain and maintain Valor's internal forklift (PIT) operator certification within 30 days of employment
Physical Requirements

  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing-speech-range, depth-perception.

The position will close at 7 a.m. on February 17, 2025, and a current employee is expected to be promoted into the role.

The hourly range for this role is $29.08 - $32.71; depends on qualifications/experience.
