Key Responsibilities:
Lead and/or direct first article inspections and tests
Work closely with our inspection team to provide leadership and support to ensure conformance to applicable drawings and standards
Identify and implement improvements in quality and customer satisfaction
Assist in failure analysis and root cause evaluation for assigned corrective actions
Design and develop new inspection techniques for products, including developing fixturing drawings, gage drawings, and fabricating prototypes
Develop and implement test plans for products and technologies through development of specifications and performance criteria
Create and/or update fixture and gage drawings
Carry out process improvement, problem resolution
Interpret customer technical data on existing and new contracts to ensure compliance and contribute to requests for variances as needed
May assist in performing DSC/TGA, bomb calorimetry, microscopy, spectroscopy and particle size analysis for production and research efforts
May assist in performing energetic material sensitivity testing
Ability to operate in a highly regulated environment as it pertains to external regulating agencies, contract requirements and corporate specifications
Support on-site audits and visits from customers, regulators and vendors
Author work instructions for Quality processes (process specifications, inspection records, setup sheets, and other forms of quality documentation).
Create quality control plans for manufacturing processes.
Perform hazard risk assessments on explosives related manufacturing processes.
Work cross-functionally and with customers and suppliers to achieve quality objectives throughout the organization
Provide training for production, engineering, and quality assurance regarding quality/inspection processes.
Assist in the oversight of manual / DCC-CMM programming and inspections
Assist with automated inspection equipment implementation.
Leverage your expertise of drawing interpretation and GD&T with the ability to instruct others
Maintain professionalism when working independently and within a team environment
Support Lean 5S initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity
Attend and contribute to discourse during team meetings and leverage senior team members for knowledge and direction
Enter and Analyze SPC data.

Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug screenings
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
Must be at least 18 years of age
Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives "Employee Possessor" eligibility and Federal Prohibitor status regarding firearms
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or another related field or equivalent experience
Proficiency in using basic and advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on MS-Excel and MS-Word)
Working knowledge with design software (e.g., AUTOCAD and Solid Works)
Proficiency in the scientific method and experimental purity
Working knowledge and experience in some of the following processes: Plating, Coating, Surface Plate and Hard Gage Inspections, Energetic Device Manufacture.
Working knowledge in the use of FAIR's, PPAP's, FMEA's and FMA's
Experience, including 3 years minimum experience with progressive responsibility in Machined and Formed Component Manufacturing, Assembly, and Inspection and/or Energetic Device Manufacturing, Assembly, and Inspection
Continuous Improvement Experience including knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma methodology, 5S and Lean initiatives as well as Kaizen implementation experience
Working knowledge of Minitab software.
3 or more years of experience in: A manufacturing setting with a structured quality system; Mechanical and/or general inspections and associated reading /interpretation of blueprints; The design and implementation automated systems for use in diverse manufacturing and production environmentt
