Loan Documentation Specialist

The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for reviewing supporting documentation for accuracy, including Laserpro loan documents and title commitments. The results from these reviews will provide training opportunities and coaching feedback for staff.

The essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Endures accurate and complete preparation of all Laserpro loan documents.
  • Review of loan approval conditions to ensure all conditions for closing are met.
  • Responsible for ensuring the loan codes are correct.
  • Reviews title work prior to loan closings, including vesting/ownership, lien positions, requirements and exceptions.
  • Tracks title policies to ensure they are received after loan closing. Works with the lending team to obtain any missing documentation.
  • Provides documentation needed at closing to lending staff based on title commitment requirements.
  • Performs UCC searches and provides feedback to lending staff.
  • Monitors UCC continuations/terminations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of lending processes and procedures, loan documentation, exceptions, collateral review, payment and loan systems.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficient in identifying, evaluating and reviewing required loan documentation.
  • Ability to perform job duties with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a team.

Education or formal training:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License required.

Experience:

  • Two (2) or more years' loan processing experience preferred but not required.
  • An understanding of title work, loan documents, regulatory documentation and security instruments is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.

Working conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, that may have a hybrid schedule to include remote work and in office but can change at any time. In-office attendance requires a minimum of two (2) days. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasional travel may be required.

Physical activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required; it would require the ability to reach for and lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee may have to lift up to 25 pounds.

Starting Rate of Pay is between $19.50 to $22.50 per hour, depending on experience.
